Are You Tired of Being Tired?

Hi friend, I have a question for you. Are you tired of being tired? In my interview with a man named Carlos, that question was one of the highlights. “You have to reach a point where you are tired of being tired,” he said. For Carlos, it was reaching that point that finally made him break free from the dangerous cycle he was trapped in.

Carlos spent most of his life just wanting to be loved, wanting to be accepted, and because of that, he turned to all the wrong things. Do you know what that feels like? Carlos found himself facing a pretty serious prison sentence, but the Lord rescued him. Now he spends his days preaching the gospel and spreading the love of Jesus.

There is a lot of Scripture on rest, but we’ll cover just a few now.

Genesis 2:1-3

God Rested. That’s so important to keep in mind! When God created the world, on the seventh day Scripture tells us that He rested. When is the last time you rested? Really rested? Not scrolling on your phone or watching a movie. When is the last time you stopped and was still with God?

Matthew 11:28-30

God gives us that rest! In Matthew, Jesus tells us that we can come to Him and He will give us rest. If you are struggling to rest, pray today that the Lord will help you learn how to find peace and restoration in Him.

Psalm 28:7

God is our strength. Maybe you’re so tired because you’ve tried to do everything on your own. Trust in the Lord to be your strength.

There is so much Scripture about rest! I encourage you to try to incorporate daily Bible reading into your life to add moments where you stop and rest in Him.
