Care For the Orphans and Widows

I first became involved in orphan ministry because of a story I read. It was about a young woman who had given up her life to care for the fatherless. She said her biggest frustration was when people told her they were happy that she had found her calling. She went on to say that all believers are called to care for the orphans! This pierced my heart.

Friends, God is calling you to the same thing! Now, that doesn’t mean you have to adopt. There are many ways you can help:

  • prayer
  • giving
  • serving
  • babysitting
  • supporting

Pray today and ask God how you can fulfill your calling to care for the orphans and widows.

“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
