Child Like Faith

My daughter was playing this weekend and fell down. She was fine but it took her a minute to get up. My four-year-old twin grandbabies saw her lying on the ground and ran to her. They started rubbing her back and asking if she was alright. They told her, “it’s going to be ok – we’re going to get some people to pray for you.” They called all the other kids over, saying “hurry hurry, we need to pray” and then laid their hands on my daughter. Their prayer was so simple, just “Dear God, please heal her, thank you, Amen”. Then they ran off to play, fully expecting that she was fine now.

This was such a sweet exchange that brought tears to my eyes. My heart overflowed with joy. ❤️

As I sit here now, hours later, and think about the response to fear and pain from a couple of four-year-olds, it reminds me of a verse.

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

They saw a person in need and didn’t judge her or try to figure out how she got herself there. They just comforted her. They immediately went to their heavenly Father for help. They prayed with thanksgiving. Then they walked away with complete faith that their Father would answer them.

Friends, wouldn’t it be so sweet if we could all have that child-like faith?
