El Shaddai

NAMES OF GOD – DAY 6

NAME: El Shaddai
PRONOUNCED: el shad-di’
TIMES FOUND: 7
FIRST USED: Genesis 17:1
MEANING: The Almighty
FAVORITE VERSE: Genesis 17:1 “When Abraham was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, ‘I am El Shaddai, walk before me faithfully and be blameless’”.
CHALLENGE: This name shows God’s complete sufficiency and promises nourishment and blessing in the same way a mother cares for her child. It was used when God wanted Abraham to understand the great plan He had for his life. Abraham was not qualified enough to fulfill that plan, but God was more than able. God is more than able to nourish, protect, and provide every need you have in fulfilling your great plan as well. Pray today about how you can surrender to your calling and trust God to take care of all your needs.
If you are comfortable, comment and tell us about it.
For an extra challenge read Genesis 17.
