In Heaven Together

Last Friday our dear friends lost their son. While this was a difficult week, we felt the Lord’s hand in so many ways. We can look back and see the things He put into place to give them peace during this tragedy. The greatest was that just a few weeks before the accident Timmy surrendered his life to the Lord and his dad was blessed to baptize him! 

Timmy left behind a precious 3-year-old daughter. Yesterday out of the blue she stood up and announced, “The clouds in the sky split opened and I saw Jesus and Daddy with Him.” They didn’t share this story with us until later that night after we looked out in their driveway at the chalk drawing my little girl had made for them (see below). When asked why she chose to draw that she confidently said, “Because they are in Heaven together”. 

God is so good. Yes, we live in a broken world. Yes, we sometimes question why God allows certain things to happen. Yes, on this earth there is pain and suffering. But that doesn’t change who our Heavenly Father is. Through our trials He is faithful. Through our trials He is compassionate. Through our trials He is merciful. Through our trials He gives us peace that surpasses all understanding.
Praise God for His Son who died so that we can spend eternity in His arms.
