Jehovah Jireh

NAME: Jehovah Jireh
PRONOUNCED: juh-ho-vuh ji-reh
FIRST USED: Genesis 22:14
MEANING: The Lord Will Provide
FAVORITE VERSE: Genesis 22:13-14 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
CHALLENGE: God presented a substitute, so Abraham did not have to sacrifice his son. He gave us a substitute too – His own Son. Jesus Christ died on the cross, making the ultimate sacrifice, and took the judgement for our sin. He did it because He loves us so much. Today I challenge you to share that love with someone else. Think of a way you can do something for someone simply because you love them. It honors God when we provide for His other children.
If you are comfortable, comment and tell us about it.
For an extra challenge read Genesis 22.
