Do You Truly Know Who Jesus Is?

In Matthew 16:13-19, Jesus asks His disciples who people say He is.  When Simon correctly answers, Jesus tells him that upon that truth he will build His church. Do you truly know who Jesus is? If so, then on you and on your understanding of that knowledge Jesus is building His church. Church is not a building…the church is His followers.

The gates of hell cannot prevail against that knowledge, and you have been given the keys.  What does that mean?  The earth is a prison, and its inhabitants are headed for hell, but if you have accepted Christ then you have escaped. Now you have been given the keys to help others find their freedom. That is literally your sole purpose in life.

Nothing else even matters anymore because everything on this earth is temporary. One day there will be judgment and eternal punishment for those who didn’t escape. I believe we will be there watching and understanding that we could have reached them if only we hadn’t let the world around us distract us.  Friends, use your keys and help others escape.
