Do You Truly Know Who Jesus Is?

In Use Your Keys, we’re reminded of the powerful truth found in Matthew 16:13–19. Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” When Simon Peter answers, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” Jesus responds by saying that on that truth He will build His church.

Do you truly know who Jesus is? If so, then on you—and on your understanding of that knowledge—Jesus is building His church. Church is not a building. The church is His people, His followers, walking in truth and authority.

Jesus goes on to say that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. And then—He gives us the keys. What does that mean? The earth is a prison, and its inhabitants are on a path to destruction. But if you’ve accepted Christ, you’ve been set free. And now you carry the keys that can unlock freedom for others.

Use Your Keys isn’t just a book title—it’s a call to action.

You’ve been equipped with spiritual authority, and with that comes purpose. Your purpose is to help others find freedom in Jesus. That is your mission. That is why you’re still here.

Nothing else truly matters, because everything on this earth is temporary. One day, there will be judgment. And I believe we’ll look around and realize we could have reached more people—if only we hadn’t let distractions get in the way.

So today, be reminded: you have the keys. The power of the gospel is in your hands. The authority of Jesus lives in you.

Friend, use your keys, and help others escape.
