What Voice are you Listening to?

Earlier this year I had someone speak something negative over my life. Ever since then I have been dealing with some fear. Mostly fear related to sharing what I believe and concerns about what people would think about those beliefs. I chose to let those evil words penetrate my mind and affect my life. Well, that ends now.

I have been doing a lot of studying on the Holy Spirit and how to know the difference between God’s voice and the enemy’s. I cannot wait to share more with you but here are a few key things I want you to know…

  • The enemy’s voice loudly condemns, accuses, discourages, confuses, lies, creates chaos, brings bondage, and attacks our emotions.
  • God’s voice gently comforts, convicts, encourages, loves, teaches, creates peace, brings freedom, stirs our spirits, and can be tested against His Word.

Whose voice are you listening to? If you don’t know, pray and ask God for wisdom.

If it is the enemy’s, you don’t have to keep listening! Speak God’s Word out loud, resist the thoughts, and fill your mind with things from above.

Check out these verses from Philippians 4…

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
