Who’s With Me?
There are people who talk about me. There are people who gossip and spread lies. There are people who twist my words, falsely accuse me, and mix up my stories. There are people who think I’m a false teacher or that because I’m a woman I shouldn’t be speaking. Do you know what I want to say to those people?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Do you know why? There are people out there who are lost. There are people who are hurting. There are people who are headed to hell because they don’t know the saving power of Jesus Christ. There are people who don’t know how loved they are. There are people who are feeling broken, powerless, and alone.
Scripture tells us that we will give an account for every idle word we speak. I don’t want to waste any words on defending myself or setting stories straight. I want every word that comes out of my mouth to build others up (Eph 4:29), to bring healing (Prov 12:18), to be full of grace (Col 4:6), to restore gently (Gal 6:1), to bring peace and edification (Rom 14:19), to be peaceable and considerate (Titus 3:2), to encourage (1 Thes 5:11), to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving (Eph 4:32), and to be sympathetic, loving, and humble (1 Peter 3:8).
Join me! Stop wasting your breath on things that don’t matter. Stop worrying about what others say about you. Let’s focus on growing the kingdom of God and bringing hope to the hopeless! Let’s proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ! Let’s go and make disciples! Let’s baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit! Let’s be witnesses to the world!
