Wine and Myrrh

During His crucifixion, Jesus was offered a drink of wine mixed with myrrh. It was used in this case as a sedative to somewhat dull the pain He was suffereing on the cross. but the Lord refused to drink it. Myrrh was also one of the gifts brought to Him by the wise men and one of the spices used in the wrapping of Christ’s body at the time of His burial.
