What Does “From Death to Life” Even Mean?
Maybe you’ve heard Christians say that before they met Christ they were “dead in their transgressions,” but once they encounter Jesus, they went from “death to life.” Christians say it a lot, but don’t always break it down to explain what it really means.
One particular place we see this in the Bible is John 5:24, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.“
Before someone surrenders to Jesus, they are literally dead inside. (Ephesians 2:1) Being saved by Jesus brings you to life! You can encounter Him today! If you want more information about this, you can visit our How To Be Saved page.
Let me give you an example to help make this clearer.
Peyton was a man who was both spiritually and literally dead. Even though his mom passed away from extensive drug use, Peyton still felt the need to be high 24/7. He ended up overdosing 5 times and actually died twice. He was depressed and felt all alone.
It was the realization that Jesus came not to call the righteous, but the sinners that allowed him to recognize there was hope for his life. Watch to see his transformation in only 3 months!
You don’t have to spend another day breathing but dead inside. You can be made alive in Christ!
