Drugs had been a part of Jacob’s life since he was a young teenager. When both of his brothers passed away from overdoses within just a few months of each other, Jacob wanted to give up the drugs. He couldn’t, so he decided instead to take his own life. For 30 days straight, he intentionally overdosed, but no matter how hard he tried, he kept waking up the next day. These lies made him go deeper into drugs and crime, which led to him spending 15 years in prison. His life was a mess and spiraling downward until one day he discovered who he was called to be.

Pain medication after childbirth led Tessa down a dark path of addiction. She became stuck in a cycle of using drugs, getting herself clean, and then relapsing. Each time, she fell a little harder until she lost her home, her business, and custody of her children. Joshua was only 8 years old when he was introduced to drugs and only 15 years old when he became a father. He was a child trying to raise a child while dealing with a drug problem. When he shared what his life looked like over the next several years, he used words like death, FBI, cartel, federal prison, attempted suicide, and overdose. He had no hope and no identity. That is, until a man serving life told Joshua about his Heavenly Father, a prison officer saved him from dying, and a stranger gave him an opportunity to change his ways. Watch to see how Joshua found hope as he discovered his identity.

Valerie’s biological father left when her mother was pregnant with her, which left a hole in Valerie’s heart. She lived her life believing she was unwanted and unvalued. She searched for ways to fill that hole with things like drugs, parties, and men, but nothing satisfied her. Her world was turned upside down when she found out she was pregnant. There was a little voice in her head telling her all kinds of lies, like what a horrible mother she would be and how she was a complete failure. At one point she considered ending her life, but a different voice caused her to keep going. Watch to find out whose voice that was and what it said.

Trauma as a child turned Tina into a broken young woman. Rejection caused her to walk down a dark path, looking for love and acceptance. Steve grew up hearing the gospel message and had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior but never felt fully assured of his salvation. His perspective was skewed because he viewed his Heavenly Father like he did his earthly father, who was absent most of his life. Steve had accepted his dad but didn’t feel accepted in return and believed his relationship with God was the same. He didn’t understand his identity as a precious son. Abandonment, poverty, and abuse turned Gregg into a very fearful and angry young man. To try to control his situation, he joined the Marine Corps. Unfortunately, this gave him power he had never experienced before and taught him how to hurt others. He quickly spiraled out of control. While running for his life and trying to evade the law, Jesus found him in a little church. Gregg said he will never forget the tiny lady that scared him to death. Wait until you hear the whole story!
