Lord, we know that you call us to be kind and compassionate, forgiving others just as you forgave us. Help us to let go of all bitterness, rage, and anger and give us the desire to love our enemies and forgive those who hurt us seventy times seven times. We choose to remember that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. Those who hurt us know not what they do so even though it is difficult right now we pray that you bless them. Heal our hearts and give us compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. We love you and thank you.

Lord, we know that you call us to pray for all of those in authority. Help us to honor and respect those serving our nation even if we do not agree with their policies. We know that all authority was established by you and they are in their position because you allowed it. Make our nation great and let its leaders honor you in all they do.

Help them to turn their ear to wisdom and apply their hearts to understanding. We know that you will give it to them. Surround our leaders with godly counsel and direct them to lead us through the immense challenges we face both locally and nationally.

Help them to put aside their political agendas and work together for the good of the people who live in this great country. Grant them the divine wisdom to do what is right and to balance justice and mercy and, if they won’t, raise up people who will glorify you and serve you.

This week, we’re praying that every child knows just how deeply loved they are by their Heavenly Father. We pray they walk into school with the confidence that comes from knowing they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). They were created on purpose and for a purpose.

We also ask God to guide them with wisdom as they navigate decisions, friendships, and challenges. As Psalm 25:4–5 says, “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.” That’s our cry for our students — that they would walk in God’s ways and not be swayed by every voice around them.

We pray that God will help our students deal with worry. Whether it’s fitting in, doing well, or simply facing a hard day, we want them to know they don’t have to carry that weight alone. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” What a beautiful promise to hold onto.

We’re also praying for their relationships. That they would honor others above themselves (Philippians 2:3–4), show kindness, and form godly friendships that lift them up — not pull them away from who God has called them to be.

Let this be our prayer for our students together:

Heavenly Father, we love you and we know that you love your precious children. Today we pray that each and every child knows they are fearfully and wonderfully made and have purpose to their lives. Fill our students with wisdom, guide them, and teach them your paths. Help them to trust you and cast their anxieties on you. Show them how to honor others and help them develop godly friendships. Give them strength, keep them encouraged, and protect them from every evil work. We trust that you are good. Amen.

Let’s keep lifting our children up — not just as the school year starts, but every single day. May they grow in wisdom, walk in love, and stand firm in their identity in Christ.
