Pray to Forgive

Lord, I know how hard it is to forgive someone who hurts us. I pray today for anyone who is struggling with this task. Take away their bitterness, anger, and pain so their hearts can begin to heal and give them tender hearts, compassion, gentleness, and patience for the one who hurt them. Remind them of the grace you freely gave them and empower them to pass that same grace on to others. The weight of an unforgiving heart is heavy, but I know you can give them rest because your yoke is easy, and your burden is light. Help them set aside any selfishness or pride and transform their minds to see your perfect will. Guard their hearts and equip them with all spiritual blessings so there can be unity on earth and praise for your glorious grace. Help them to be like you, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. We thank you in advance for the work you are doing in their lives.
