Yahweh – Eternal Personal God

Yahweh – Eternal Personal God

In a world filled with uncertainty, we long for something constant—someone who sees us, knows us, and never changes. That is who Yahweh is.

Yahweh is the personal name of God, revealing His eternal nature and His desire for relationship with us. Unlike false gods that are distant and powerless, Yahweh is near, present, and actively involved in our lives. He is unchanging, sovereign, and the source of all life.

Yahweh in the Bible

The name Yahweh first appears in Exodus 3:14, when God speaks to Moses through the burning bush. Moses asks for God’s name, and He replies, “I AM WHO I AM.” This powerful statement means God is self-existent, uncreated, and always present.

Throughout Scripture, Yahweh is used over 6,800 times, emphasizing God’s faithfulness, power, and personal relationship with His people. In Deuteronomy 6:4, we see one of the most important declarations of faith: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord (Yahweh) our God, the Lord is one.”

Jesus also identified Himself as Yahweh in John 8:58, saying, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” This bold statement confirmed that Jesus is the eternal, self-existent God.

What This Means for Us Today

Because Yahweh is eternal, He is always faithful. When we feel lost, He is our guide. When we are weak, He is our strength. When we need love, He draws near.

Yahweh is not a distant deity—He is personal. He knows you by name, walks with you in every season, and desires a deep relationship with you.

A Prayer to Yahweh

Yahweh, You are the great I AM. You have always been and always will be. Thank You for being constant, faithful, and personal. Help me to trust You in every season of life, knowing You are always near. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Rest in Yahweh’s Faithfulness

Yahweh is unchanging, all-powerful, and always present. No matter what you face, trust that He is with you.
