Can You Lose Your Salvation when you’re in Unforgiveness?
This question comes up a lot: Can you lose your salvation if you’re holding onto unforgiveness?
It’s a heavy one—and it’s one I recently had the honor of digging into with some very special guests.
In our latest conversation on YouTube, I sat down with a dear friend and powerhouse in the faith, John Humenik of John Humenik Ministries. If you’ve ever seen him online, you know he brings truth, boldness, and the love of Jesus all in one breath. What a gift it was to have him on the show.
So what does the Bible say?
God makes it clear that forgiveness is not optional—it’s foundational. In Matthew 6:14–15, Jesus says that if we don’t forgive others, our Father won’t forgive us. That verse has stopped me in my tracks more than once. But does that mean we can lose our salvation if we struggle to forgive?
The truth? If you’ve genuinely placed your faith in Jesus, you’re sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). But forgiveness is still serious. Holding onto bitterness can harden our hearts and keep us from intimacy with God. And over time, that distance can cause real damage—not to your salvation, but to your spiritual walk.
This isn’t about fear—it’s about freedom. Forgiveness sets you free.
So if you’ve been wrestling with unforgiveness, watch this episode. Pray. And ask God to help you release what’s weighing you down. He’s already forgiven you—and He’ll help you forgive, too.
